Web Security, why you should know about it.
About 10 years ago I did web consulting work for private individuals and
small businesses, and I was amazed how little they knew about the Web and about online security.
I usually got called
in when something went haywire, usually a virus.
People were doing online banking on the same computer or same
network where their teenage son was visiting hacking sites or porn sites and opening all the doors of the system.
They would post photos of their homes and their family on the web, with lots of private information. I've seen one
family showing when they would be off on holiday and the address of their home on the site.
I highly recommend that you
spent some time reading about online security. It can insulate you from a lot of grief later on.
